Over a dozen artists took advantage of the great weather and discovered the beauty of the biodiversity at North Head as they spent the day painting, drawing and photographing around the site. Adults and children learnt about indigenous plants and animals as well as assisted Aboriginal elder and artist Walangari Karntawarra to produce a magnificent sand mandala, a special artwork that told the story of the biodiversity of North Head. A large group took part in an Earthwatch climate indicators survey before joining guided walks around the Sanctuary. Australian Wildlife Conservancy, Nelika Hughes explained to the children what bandicoots ate for breakfast. A great day out for all.
